Chapter 10
I agreed with the message this chapter was trying to convey. Storytelling is a powerful tool not only in the classroom but as a tool to use in presentation and lessons in the classroom. As I sit and reflect on passed presentations I am reminded of a presenter who had the most boring power point. He would stop in between a couple of slides and tell a story about himself and his experiences. I would daydream during the slides but as soon as he started to tell a story my ears would perk up and I would be interested in what he had to say. People love stories; I see it every day in my classroom. I use to teach first grade and would have story time every day after lunch. My students would sit around the rocking chair and listen to me read them a story. When I started teaching 4th grade I thought these kids might be too old for story time. But it turns out they are not. They too love sitting around the rocking chair and listening to me read.
