Final Copyright Presentation
When my audiance arrives at my copyright presentation they will be greeted by the fresh smell of coffee. There will be soft music playing in the background. All my tables will have some treats to enjoy while I present and a small token of appreciation, like a bag or pen. I will remember to incorporate humor and personal brief stories. My final powerpoint will engage my audiance and keep them interested while they learn about an important topic.

Chapter 11
This chapter helped me realize that I need to include more ways to appeal to my audience’s senses. As, an educator I find it difficult to include food and smells into my lessons because of all the nutritional guidelines we have to follow. I find that it sounds great to incorporate smells and taste in the classroom and presentations but finding the resources can be tuff. I like the idea of using oranges to teach fractions, so I went ahead and did that lesson with my 4th graders. They loved it. One of my favorite presenters is Dr. Diana Ramirez, I show up to her presentations thirty minutes early just to get a good seat. When you walk into her presentations you are welcomed with the smell of fresh coffee and chocolates and mints on every table. She tells the best stories and does not bore you to death with power points. I want to be just like her.
Chapter 10
I agreed with the message this chapter was trying to convey. Storytelling is a powerful tool not only in the classroom but as a tool to use in presentation and lessons in the classroom. As I sit and reflect on passed presentations I am reminded of a presenter who had the most boring power point. He would stop in between a couple of slides and tell a story about himself and his experiences. I would daydream during the slides but as soon as he started to tell a story my ears would perk up and I would be interested in what he had to say. People love stories; I see it every day in my classroom. I use to teach first grade and would have story time every day after lunch. My students would sit around the rocking chair and listen to me read them a story. When I started teaching 4th grade I thought these kids might be too old for story time. But it turns out they are not. They too love sitting around the rocking chair and listening to me read.

I added some images.
Chapter 9 Tapping Emotions
Positive words and images can uplift your audience, while you make that connection to emotion. I find myself wondering what kind of connection I want to make with my audience, when they view my copyright presentation. Should I make one feel guilty for copyrighting materials? Or should they leave feeling enlighten. Of course, I went ahead and decided on enlighten. After, reading about the impacts of positive words during a presentation, I plan on being more conscious of the words I choose to use in my presentations. This chapter reminded me of a presenter our district had a couple of years ago. Before, he presented, the district celebrated its accomplishments and thanked its teachers for an exemplary year. We were all feeling great. Then he came out and spoke. He said that we had no right to celebrate our scores, because the state of Texas is one of the worst performing states in America. The crowd was aghast. I listen to a man rant about Texas schools for an hour, I left feeling worse than ever.

Chapter 8 Playing Music
While, I was reading the chapter I realized that music makes an impact on our lives more than we realize. Why wouldn’t we use it in presentations? I use music in my classroom on a daily basis. However, it never crossed my mind to use music in a presentation. I believe the key is finding the right song for the right presentation. But I find myself having a hard time tapping into people’s emotions, while pleasing all listeners. I think music stays with us and I would hate to use a song that reminds anyone of something tragic. I plan on using songs I think nobody has heard before, so that I can create the memory with the song first. Call me a dreamer, but I can try!
